Sleeping Beauty is an illustrated drawing by Romanian artist Andrea Kurti. This painting was created using watercolor techniques and is vibrantly colorful.
In fact, to create this painting, the illustrator used about 15 shades of colors, applying different nuances.
The drawing depicts one of the oldest and most famous fairy tales: Sleeping Beauty: the girl who waits for 100 years for the kiss that will awaken her.
In fact, in the illustrated scene we see this girl with very long hair, lying on a bed with her eyes closed, therefore asleep.
All around her, we find nature proceeding steadily on its way, as do the birds and butterflies that alight on the flowers.
The princess’s dress is blue and conveys peace, silence, and tranquility. This peace is enlivened by the bright colors of nature, which seek to awaken the sleeping beauty.
But only the prince will be able to break the spell and wake the young and delicate girl.
